The Bombers came to St. Thomas first and took game one 6-2. In Game two, the Barons returned the favour and won 6-3. The series moved to Flin Flon to conclude. The Bombers took game three 5-0. Game four, the Bombers led 4-0 with 10:10 left in the second period when the second brawl of the game broke out. St. Thomas walked off the ice and the team's coach, Keith Kewly refused to return them to the ice. The "Canadian Hockey Association", the group created to govern this championship, awarded the championship to Flin Flon and waged heavy sanctions against the Barons franchise. In 1976, the team was moved up to the short-lived "Southwestern Ontario Junior "B" Hockey League". When the Southwestern died, the Colonels jumped to the new "Western League" and changed their name to the Pests in 1980. As expected, the Pests was considered a horrible name and was changed to the Stars in 1984.
